Roberta Schultz, MA, BA and Rank I in Education, is a singer songwriter and poet from Wilder, KY. She performs regionally with critically acclaimed Raison D’Etre, a women’s harmony trio specializing in swing harmonies, cowboy anthems, and American music. Raison D’Etre has 9 recordings and one concert DVD to their credit. The group is featured in Kentucky’s Performing Arts Roster. 

As a solo performer, Roberta is included on arts rosters in both Kentucky and Ohio.  She is a Trained HealthRhythms Facilitator with over a decade’s experience leading wellness drum circles for seniors, veterans, recovery treatment centers, and schools. 

Like an original “bard,” Roberta Schultz is both singer songwriter and poet.   Her work has appeared in Pine Mountain Sand & Gravel, Still: the Journal, Panoply, Kudzu, Riparian and other anthologies. Her three chapbooks, Outposts on the Border of LongingSongs from the Shaper’s Harp, and Touchstones are published by Finishing Line Press. Schultz's first full-length collection of poetry, Underscore, will be published in 2022 by Dos Madres Press. Her fourth chapbook was selected by Workhorse Writers for their 2022 Chapbook Series.

Spring Author Fair at Village Lights

Village Lights Bookstore is holding a signing event in-store from 12-4 pm on Saturday May 28. Dueling poets will type on- the- spot poems for you outside, four novelists will sign in store, three poets will alternate readings on the half hour from 1-4 pm. It's my first stop on a long book tour for UNDERSCORE, my brand new, first-ever book-length collection of poems from Dos Madres Press. Join Tony Brewer, Pauletta Hansel, and me in the Reading Room for some fun at a great independent bookstore in a beautiful river town.
